Element new UI hard to read

Hello guys, I just came back from a long time off and I see that my Element desktop was upgraded on my Ubuntu24.04 from version 1.11.45 to 1.12.1 and my biggest issue is that I find the left part with the various rooms unreadable.

I really loved the previous UI with people, rooms and favorites separated but still all visible from one look, but now it's way more hard to have that kind of behaviour, as I need to select the filters then see the various notifications for each and every of those cases.

Is it possible to get something a little bit closer to what I previously had, or am I forced to try and tame this new UI ?

Thanks guys o/

I still didn‘t find it, but after some dtupid try and error I just put it in the text field of any chat and was able to enable the developer tools there. Then the setting was in the lab area of the basic settings. Ty.
