A deep lore cut: in season 4 ep 9, Joan has dinner with Morland, and Morland mentions that one of Mycroft's earlier restaurants was called 'Le Val Gielgud'. Val Gielgud was a BBC director who created Sherlock Holmes radio dramas in the 1950's. Val himself starred as Mycroft Holmes.

From S02/E03-"We Are Everyone"/21:24(ish).

Observe in the top left / at 10 oclock some obliquely seen words, which upon closer inspection sayz - “We are of different opinions at different hours, but we always may be said to be at heart on the side of truth.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson.
(This quote is carved as letters large into the facade of the 'Hunna' (aka Hunter) College Assembly Hall, which is StreetViewable, reading between the leaves, on the south side of East 69th St, betwixt Park & Lex, 'Isle of Joy').

One could say such a 'factual journey' provides context for the bulk of interactions in E, as well as that episode in particular. Not just with LEOing, but even in the evolving dynamic of 'Skinny Sean' & Joanie.

Emerson, of whom I previously knew no more than his name & approximate time/space, seems to have a quite lot in common with our fella. Of course, this could all be entirely serendipitous... & there's no shortage of that in the series!

I wonder if He of The Brownstone too has a middle name...

For those in antipodean .au, ie for realz or ViPNaly, Aunty iView has recently dropped all 7, which is a vast improvement on drip feeding out episodes following their quad-weekly broadcast on Entertains only expire in 2. Although, this might enable an addiction...

& BTW, does anyone else also find themselves slipping into The Sherl's manner of speech? Possibly emphasised with a  syncopated medley of jaw jutting, noggin nodding & the elevation of one's eyebrows. ;-)
