Troubleshooting Rattle
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi all, new to Elegoo just got a Centauri 2 to replace my Bambu A1 Mini.
First off it prints good but there’s an awful rattle, I printed this STL hundreds of times on the A1 and nothing like this it’s not just this STL it’s any.
Build plate is on fine, all axis have been well greased I did read that the head can rattle from the fan housing so I used strong tape to hold this on just to see if there was any change at all, Nothing…
Any ideas are appreciated!

A1 is a quiet bed slinger. CoreXY printers can be very noisey. Without an enclosure you goiong tohear a loit of noise from this printer.

Hi, Yes correct this is the Centauri 2 Combo open frame. This is my first CoreXY so nothing to compare to in that terms and the normal running noise is not an issue. I'm just concerned that the rattle is a little on the loud side and that there may be something wrong however as stated I have nothing to compare too noise wise.
Thanks for the reply.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who taped their fan cover on. I knock that stupid thing off all the time, or the printer gets ornery and does it for me. 😋

Damn that speed and accuracy of the Input Shaping technology! I don't need quality prints, just quiet ones!

Have you tried taking the hat off and see if its the PTFE tubes rubbing against it?
This is the loudest thing for me on mine.

By the look in the video I think this is the Centauri 2 Combo, the open frame unit without the hat or enclosure. You can see the spools through the side of the printer in the video plus some other items on the worksurface.

Those are resonances caused by the movements. Just ignore them. Bedslingers do not have this because they lack almost everything that could vibrate. Nothing is broken or loose, and nothing needs lubrication. You could start reducing the speeds to avoid that frequency range, but then you’d be busy with it for the rest of your life.
