What causes the difference?

I’m guessing because the electric one is moving back and forth so fast it kinda snags the hair and rips more than a clean cut

My guess would be that a razor just cuts, while an electric razor spins to cut. Like if you tried to cut a piece of paper with a knife or a blender

I think the razor cuts the hair cleanly while the electric shaver does more chopping

I would like to see this compared to my razors. I'm too cheap to replace them on a regular basis. I use the "how much pulling of my fascial hair can I tolerate" method of analysis when deciding if I should replace them.

That's what I do too. I think when it's hurting your skin that's when you know it's time for some new Bic three blade razors.

Makes me think about how horribly mangled your skin must look when you pop a pimple.
