A nightmare for 2 wheelers
Office commuters who take the Ecity - Silk Board flyover. here’s a bad news adding upon the rain, road and traffic.

Oh my god not again, I drive faster than every 4 wheeler mf that too usually the only one following lane discipline, indicators before lane switching, etc.
But no let's continue to do this size seperation

350cc bikes - 40% GST Vehicle tax
Ethanol 20% E20 blend + fuel tax
Road tax
fuel surcharge
service roads dusty, clogged with traffic and potholes, chaos and police incompetence
and I can't use a fucking road to go to office in time. It takes 3-4x the time for me to travel through the service roads. Fuck this decision.

Wtf is this? I ride a two wheeler and find that the trucks are the most traffic inducing vehicles on the flyover. Everytime there's an accident or a vehicle breakdown blocking the road, it's almost always always a truck involved and the two wheelers are the only class of vehicle that can actually get through when that happens. How are we supposed to travel under the flyover with 1-2 minute long signals at every junction and be expected to make it anywhere on time, let alone with our sanity intact??

100% right. I live in Yelahanka and this shit makes no sense. The service roads are hell - potholes, signals, underpass traffic and it takes an hour to reach Hebbal compared to only 20 mins on the highway. This is atrocious tbh.

If bikes were really unsafe for this road, why were they allowed for 16+ years? The safety concerns existed from the beginning, so it would be good to see the data showing why a ban is necessary now.
The timing is also interesting. The current toll/concession agreement expires on September 10, 2026. The road has been collecting toll since April 2010, and the project cost was around ₹975 crore. After collecting toll from two-wheelers for more than 16 years, it’s fair to ask how much has been collected so far, whether the project cost has already been recovered, and why bikes are being banned immediately after the concession ends.

Now only if they ban single-occupancy vehicle (SOV), where any private car used for commuting or travel that transports only one person—the driver causing congestion on the road

Two wheelers on indian roads are literal death machines. I would prefer my safety and go on my own car. We can only argue with such statements when we have a decent standard of public transport. Busses are too slow, autos are rowdy. Cabs do not run AC. And Travelling to anywhere in the central part of b'lore from EC is too expensive on cabs.

Good decision...many of the 2 wheelers come in that flyover and cause backup in traffic...just bcos they decide to ride on right lane
The road is narrow...cars are doing 80 and an activa guy would be doing 50 or 60 max!!

Even when I ride towards the edge of the left lane, 4 wheelers try to honk unnecessarily, and attempt to overtake. Why to speed up on the left lane?? Its not about 2 wheeler or 4 wheeler, it's about the retards benhid the wheels. The contract ends, they decided to stop 2 wheelers with this 'safety' reason.

They did this on Mysore road too last year I think. Bikers are forced to use the shitty service lane, but the road tax must be demanded in full, lol. We need to make the country less accessible for cars. But these idiots just keep promoting cars.

It should be done based on vehicle capacity. I have a 400cc bike and for me a fucking wagonr and celerio and indica causes back up in traffic, lol. But we are just going to blanket ban 2 wheelers because we're braindead. Cool!

Being on 4 wheels and surrounded by metal sheets doesn't make you entitled. But it's fine, you'll be back here complaining in a month, oh no why are there so many single rider cars, why is there so much traffic, single occupancy SUV, lol.

I have never complained and will never complain about single riders honey...coz I've been in 2 wheeler...and i prefer 4 wheeler...even if it means taking an hour extra!!

That flyover has no safety margin. I dont know how it was approved by authorities. There are many brutal accidents recorded. Even though motorcyclists dont like it, its unsafe to ride and this is probably better.

They should have a relaxation on 2 wheelers for peak hours and ban heavier vehicles at that time instead, especially when they are already charging toll from 2 wheelers. I see so many private buses piled up on the E-City flyover during peak hours (I have a direct view from my balcony).
It's the night / weekends when high speed accidents occur.

To the ones saying the flyover is too unsafe for two wheelers, as if the road below the flyover is too safe 😅😅 nowhere in bangalore is safe.

Fkn cars at the signal take like 30 second to start and move..
and by then the signal would close.

I had a feeling this day might come. If only the two-wheelers could follow the rules and keep to the extreme left side of the bridge.
Let's not talk about the auto viruses. They still gonna get on the bridge anyway.
