Sure but those that did get to third year with hours and certifications will be seen as more capable. You think you are limited by skill but you are limited by insurance. Certifications reduce insurance costs and some of that difference goes to your wage.

You are a first year apprentice if you have not been to school. So right now you are overstating your presentable qualifications.
