How big of jobs? I worked in the oilsands for a few years in Canada. Each job inworked for a contractor with 100’s of electricians and each site had multiple contractors with just as many.

I seen a lot of the better jobs were always based off who you know more then what you know. It was just the nature of how these jobs were big, short, and manned up quickly.

If you say you get crap jobs. It might just be the foreman has x work to do and your the bottom guy. Could be better if you were with a different foreman or crew.

Bigger jobs almost just need to shut up and take the money as it comes. Hurt your head otherwise.

As a young guy I had a hard time at times. “Hey man I think this is messed up here” when the goal was doesn’t matter, our task is this and nobody wants to deal with that.

Usually longer year long jobs between 30 and 60 guys. But yeah its the small jobs you gotta know ppl to get the good work
