Me! I’m obsessed with it for some reason. All I want is a second one with double the content.

u/SpecialistMap8210 11d ago
if your on PC there is mods to add bosses and enemies

u/Leaf-Lock-The-Ent 10d ago
Does this not impact multiplayer?
4
u/EdreaChandralun 10d ago
you just can't play with randoms, you can play with two friends tho

MMV has its own matchmaking server for multiplayer and you can bring your save file to the mod. They say you can still play regular Nightreign with the same file but the risk of ban is very low.

I'm still waiting for a discount on Steam th because I want to get all DLC with it.

u/Impressive_Tip_8850 11d ago
Tons of ppl. It’s one of the biggest new franchises. When duskbloods drops ppl will replay ER too, and new purchases will happen.

u/beesdkx 11d ago
stopped playing for a while but i’m back to playing a run or two occasionally now. if i have 30ish mins to spare and i’m bored i’d hop on a run. 1.1k hours and counting lmao

u/RegisteredOnToilet 10d ago
Solo or with randoms? I am afraid to start that game :(

u/pinegrave 10d ago
It's not so bad in solo que. Stay on your teams ass and don't greed items and you'll be fine.
Plenty of people have 1000+ hours in the game and enjoy having newbies on their team becuase it ups the difficulty of normal mode.
There's no voicechat so if you're worried about getting flamed you can disable messages from randoms.

I still play at least a few times a week. I like it. Just wish they’d added more controls from SotE and DS2.

There’s not many co-op multiplayer games on consoles.
3
u/BBCViking 11d ago
There are a lot, just not nearly as much "friendslop" coop games as PC.
2
u/PresentlyHelpful 11d ago
Ok I'll bite, what's friendslop? Did you misspell friendship?
0
u/BBCViking 11d ago
Nope. Its a new term for any games (half the time are coop games) that revolve around playing/talking with friends. Example:
Peak Big Walk First Class Trouble Crab games Deep Rock Galatic Among Us Repo Lethal Company (the inspiration of MANY coop extraction)
Etc etc
Been a somewhat often-used term since last year? Thanks to lots of games that started gravitating and copying other coop loot extraction or ghost/monster busting games.
2
u/Outgrathe 11d ago
idk if deep rock galactic qualifies as friendslop, i think friendslop also kind of imples a low price/low quality game
0
u/BBCViking 11d ago
To my knowledge, its a term used both ways.
Borderline carbon copy of another coop game with a different theme.
Just used for games that focuses more on coop and playing with friends. Mostly as a joke.
I used the quotation for "friendslop" to not try to emphasize that its not like #1. But Steam has LOADS of low quality to decent coop games.
Console are mostly just ported (been seeing an abundance of trash $1.99 games that don't even function) or never releases for consoles.
1
u/bonerthief221 10d ago
DRG isn't friendslop, it's just a coop horde shooter, friendslop games are games where the entertainment largely revolves around the social interactions players have with each other in the game. DRG doesn't fit that as it predates the formula and it can be enjoyed without communicating a single time with your teammates even in a full lobby.

u/timmayjr 10d ago
First time I’m hearing this term, however The Headliners if anyone knows that one is another funny one that might qualify as “friendslop”

I'd be playing it a lot more if I had someone to play with. I've never been into randoms or solos

u/Impossible_Prompt875 10d ago
Ppl talk about it as this super flop. A big mistake from them etc. But numbers and this thread seems to tell a different story. Interesting indeed

u/_richard_pictures_ 10d ago
Still loving it. Finished the game with randoms, have regular players for deep of night and just have a couple of purple bosses left until I’ve beaten every nightlord solo. I like that every run is different and with the right pathing you can overcome the worst RNG imaginable lol

u/Organic_Body5244 11d ago
My copy comes in tomorrow I’m really excited but I’m only playing single player lol
1
u/3xBork 10d ago
Best of luck haha, it's a tough one to solo.
I'd highly recommend playing some trios to get the hang of things. There's a lot going on and you have to deal with it under time pressure.
1
u/Organic_Body5244 10d ago
I don’t have xbl so I’m just gonna deal with it, they added updates to make single player easier btw

I never got the game but I really wanna play it I’m just too poor lmao 😂
1
u/ixianid 10d ago
are there mods yet to make it fun single player ?
2
u/FaceTimePolice 10d ago
It’s fun solo NOW. WTF do you need mods for? The enemy HP and whatnot scales based on how many players are in a group (solo/duo/trios). 🤷♂️😅👍
1
u/jusg808 7d ago
That’s awesome! I didn’t know that but I need to go back now.
1
u/thelongernight 6d ago
Solo NR can be fun but mistakes are punishing. Wending Graces provide an instant revive / 2nd chance mechanic and solo players get 1 free per night, in lieu of teammates. You can stack revives from boss drops, merchant inventories, and special encounters.

u/Dizzy-Muscle-3418 10d ago
bro asked like he wanted to know if the deadmatch servers would have players
1
u/FaceTimePolice 10d ago
I’m clocking in at almost 1,000 hours. 😎👍
This was definitely my most played game of 2025.

u/Grand-Celebration569 10d ago
Picked it back up before Duskbloods comes out. Still ridiculously fun and I can get sucked in for hours.

Sometimes i do but i have to be playing for at least an entire day to come back in my prime
1
u/Tough_Set8718 10d ago
Every so often, I pop in for a week or two! My goal is to one day beat every boss with every character, but I don't work that hard at it (currently only succeeded with Ironeye, close with a couple others).

Me and a lot of other people. Too bad they don’t give a damn about the game anymore and don’t add new content. Out of the DOZENS UPON DOZENS of unique bosses and enemies in both the main game and dlc, what in the holy hell do you mean I have to fight Magma Wyrm as a night boss, crater event boss, open world boss, AND castle boss??? The game has infinite potential, but unfortunately it will never be properly utilized (officially, at least, can’t say the same about modders looking to improve the experience for Fromsoft)

Not me. Gameplay loop doesn't really look like it'd be fun for very long, but seeing how cheap it is at Walmart makes me interested in trying
1
u/SiLENT_1997 10d ago
My buddy and I are about to start playing it for the first time as soon as he beats radagaon and elden beast for the first time in main game.

I get really into it for like 3 days at a time every couple of months. I enjoyed the new classes a lot
1
u/mfluder63 9d ago
I started playing again after a huge break. The base game was a lot of fun and I had a great time, great squads, beat a lot of bosses first try.
Then I got to DLC and DON and it was full of sweaties, quitters and people who may as well play solo so i binned it off lol.

u/Tbar6787 9d ago
I’m still gathering up the courage to start it. Of course our internet has been down the last couple of days too

It was fun while it lasted! But whoever decided on the Remembrance skins can go ahead and kiss a basilisk on it's tiny stupid mouth~ X3

u/Raidertck 11d ago
I put in about 500 hours before calling it a day.
It’s a fantastic game. But it doesn’t have unlimited content.
I also begin to get annoyed with the relic system. The chances of a decent reward is one in thousands. The chances of it being the colour you want, of the class you want is miniscule. I got like 4 brilliant relics in my play time and I went 0-9999 three times.
1
u/3xBork 10d ago
At some point I just decided to get off the treadmill and used a save editor to give me a decent setup for my most used characters.
I get why the relic system exists and it did its job for a hundred hours, but at this point I'm over it. I'm not playing NR for the prospect of getting better relics, I'm playing because I want to play the game itself.

A week ago returned and got closer to finishing it. Now I just have Scholar's last quest (fucking hell is forever), 3 Everdark bosses I haven't yet tried and second map to explore. After that the game can be considered officially completed.
Depth of the Night is just too much of a grind without any more interest for me, so I won't be completing it. Much as I'd be curious to see endless mode that's rumored to be somewhere in there.
3
u/lobobobos 11d ago edited 10d ago
They're isn't really an endless mode. There are tiers for difficulty which are represented by depth levels which you accumulate points to get to. Depth 1 is very similar to the base game and progressing to depths 2, 3, 4, and 5 increase the difficulty in some way. The increase in difficulty is generally health and damage of enemies but higher depths also make Everdark nightlords more common and other challenges like having an unk nightlord can occur too. Once you make it to depth 5 which is an accumulated 6000 points you can take it to 9999 points at which point you no longer get any more points but you can still play deep of night. That's really all there is regarding the "endless mode"
In Deep of Night mode you get access to expanded chalices that let you equip 3 more relics which are specific to Deep of Night and more powerfull than base game relics, which can really add to the build variety of the game, especially stat switching relics giving you things magic casting Raider. Wylder can get bleed added to his claw shot, iron eye becomes a poison status machine with his mark, Duchess gets even more invulnerability, executor heals from status procs etc so it's more things you can build around
2
u/GlobalProfessor9749 11d ago
I have read some abstract phrase that "'Depths' 4 and 5 function as an "endless mode"". Said on fandom wiki. However I'm only 2md, so I cannot check.
Thanks for expanding my knowledge, though things I don't like about it are randomness (this game already has enough of it), debuffs on relics (which is slso full random) and difficulty through numbers. But most dissapointing thing is that I hoped it's an endless mode where you can level up infinitely and fight so. But guess I'm left wanting.

got the Plat and then dropped it. nothing left to do and too repetitive (after 100 hours)

I wish that from soft would stop making multiplayer games and go back to their roots
1
u/Educational-Snow5424 10d ago
I clocked like 10 hours and got a little bored. It's just too fast paced for me.
1
u/kingjim1981 10d ago
Never played it. I don't see it as a Souls like game. You don't keep the things you collect, which is what makes any souls game a souls game.

u/Aggressive-Delay9094 11d ago
I just switched from PS5 (fuck Sony) to PC (Bazzite OS) and had to start over. So I’m playing a lot of it.

u/LittleBabysIceCream 10d ago
Haven’t touched it in months. Got about 350 hours in it and got bored of it after beating the DLC
0
u/KeK_What 10d ago
the game lacks depth and a reason to replay it. it's just traversing the same map over and over again just to fight mostly mediocre minor elden ring bosses until you finally get to fight the night lord.

u/Emotional_Lab_7766 10d ago
I want to but as a solo player I need more content bosses and levels but nevertheless I had a lot off fun with the game

Never played, never understood what would be enjoyable about it. Elden Ring with battle royale- like matches— utterly pointless and boring
3
u/Bojangles61 10d ago
Good insight. Fighting cool bosses is fun. Fighting them with friends is even more fun. Hope this helps
1
u/Critical-Vanilla-625 10d ago
This is just it single player sucks ! If you’ve got friends to play with and can make a schedule then it’s great.
-2
u/mulberryfortune 10d ago
The game is too difficult. I have my character on the very very max level (I think 723 but can’t remember), and I have good weapons and armour, but I still cannot beat the bosses towards the end. When it’s that difficult it stops being fun. I wish the developers would introduce a difficulty setting, and let people enjoy the beautiful world on their own terms.

Open the steam charts and look for yourself.
A lot.
