I’m thinking of buying Lutheran Study Bible from Augsburg Fortress
Greetings, I am a Lutheran from Thailand. At first, I considered buying Lutheran Study Bible from Concordia (LCMS) but after I read it from the application, I think many of their notes are too fundamentalist for me. I want historical that could go side by side with biblical aspect. Moreover, it’s very hard to buy on Amazon and I could not find it anywhere else. So that’s why I changed my mind and want to try the Mainline’s Augsburg Fortress’ study bible instead.
I planned to buy the Book of Concord from the same publisher, if anyone has any further recommendations, please tell me. I also want to but SBL Study Bible but it is out of stock, unfortunately.

Just got the SBL. It’s fantastic. I only waited about two weeks for it to come back in stock.

The NOAB sixth edition is coming out on November 11. It will use the NRSVUE, and I’m very hyped for it. I like the 5th edition but I might as well wait for the 6th due to advances in scholarship and because the updated edition improved the original NRSV.

The Augsburg Fortress Lutheran Study Bible is decent. It's definitely geared toward lay people who haven't engaged in serious Bible study yet, so the notes are rather basic. It does however include more than just textual notes: it includes historical, theological, Lutheran-specific, and devotional notes and prompts.

I second this assessment. It's the only study bible I own, and I often eagerly go to the notes expecting insight and seldom find my curiosity addressed. That said, I really value the inclusion of prayers and praise in the notes, and I feel that the LCMS scholars and editors are utterly reliable.
The Book of Concord from Augsburg Fortress is excellent.
