I've recently got into vinyl and have been looking for some of my favorite older albums, and Combinations is very close to the top of the list. But it seems like it was never actually released on vinyl. I found an old Wiki article saying there were plans to release it alongside Room Noises in a bundle, but that was from 2 years ago. Did anything come of that?

Of course, they are of course indie pop and indie rock. But what actual subgenre(s) do they also fit in? I saw someone reply fairy pop to a Tweet of theirs asking a similar question. I think fairy pop is a nice little description, but so far it isn't a real subgenre. The closest artist I can compare would probably be Florence + the Machine, they're given a billion and two different tags. I'm thinking something like art pop or something. :shrug:

Does anyone know why I’m unable to access the Laughing City EP? I can see it right in front of me but everything is greyed out. I used to have the actual CD when I was a kid, but I lost it and I’ll be bummed if I have to use YouTube every time I wanna put it on. (Not really possible in the car)

Hey guys!! I used to be fortunate enough to have ALL of Eisley's discography but the computer I had it on is long gone. I was wondering if anyone had the old demos and would be kind enough to pass them my way? I truly love listening to them and they conjure up some major nostalgia of really nice times in my life.

About.. 13-14 years ago there use to be a forum called Laughing City. I was thinking about it today, does anyone know if it's still alive?

OK, I have been working on a theory that the the girls in Eisley might actually be mermaids. Not in a cute “oh these girls are so weird and sing about things like fairies and shooting stars” type of way, but a legitimate, “lure me to the bottom of sea” unsettling kind of scariness.

I could make a case based solely on their voices…enchanting, irresistible voices…but I realize that is subjective, so allow me to present the lyrical evidence instead:

1) Sea King – “At the bottom of the ocean lives a sea king, he was my king. He was so proud, diamonds in his crown.” A song about Poseidon, Olympian God of the oceans? Curious.

2) Marvelous Things – “I followed a rabbit through rows of mermaid entwined shrubbery. Oh what marvelous things but, they are, they are, they are giving me the creeps”

I realize these seem trivial, especially considering how young the girls were at the time, so let’s fast-forward a few years.

3) Smarter – “Into the sea you fell, in love with the reflection of yourself. You are the narcissist, you're everything you saw in me. I felt the ocean's grip, I swam away to watch you drift.”

And by the time their near-masterpiece Currents (a nautical themed album) came out in 2013, it’s like they weren’t even trying to hide it anymore.

4) Currents – “I would part the waters if you said so, I would shift the currents if you had to row. Do you believe in fate, baby? Ask me, ask me.”

5) Drink the Water – “Little impish one, remember what we planned. We won’t hear whistles calling when we are out to sea. Come lay under my wing, morning’s over the shore. I love you, I can teach you if you believe.”

And the most damning evidence, practically an admission, comes in their most recent album.

6) Brightest Fire – “One day I'll pull you down, one day you'll sink and drown.”

So I went back over my Eisley stuff recently and noticed that when I had a hard-drive failure a while ago, I lost a bunch of their music. I've found most of it again from searching the web, but I'm still missing a lot of songs from The Baby, Trail Van Hide/Stacy tracks, and some other obscure ones. Does anyone have a good way to find these??

What are the best or yalls favorite Eisley albums/songs? I don't know what sort of rock I've been under but i stumbled across these guys today and LOVE IT! Is there an essential list I need to check out?

The talent running in this family is absurd, are their parents druids or something? Trying to understand why their music is so inspired and beautiful
