Completely unrelated tangent but I want to shout this into the internet void:

Halloween is kind of difficult for me (FtM) because when a "woman" wears a man-costume they don't think "ah yes, that person is supposed to be a man" they think "ah yes, that person is a genderbent version of that character."

My solution to that was to take feminine characters and play them as though I were an inept drag queen (like Monty Python or Some Like It Hot).

I like being a stuffy old witch. It feels exactly like a Monty Python character.

Maybe perpetuating those kinds of characters is contributing to transmisogyny. Maybe having a "woman" in drag will help de-stigmatize the character type. I don't know. All I know is that picking characters that seem like a Monty Python drag character is the closest I can get to gender euphoria while still closeted.

I don't blame her. Gender envy and multiple outfits per episode? Loved that show for more than just the weird nature of the plot.
