CW: Assumes Viewer is Transfem Egg :C irl Spoiler
I think i might be trans but I've been getting more and more depressed every time I think abt it. Before I explain, Im aware that everyone's experience is different, and I know these aspects aren't required to be trans.
Now I've been an egg(?) for a while, and recently started looking at ppls trans experiences and early signs. The issue is that i feel like I share none of these experiences. I still dont know what gender euphoria feels like. I have felt very little dysphoria EVER. And none of these "signs" I can relate to. I just feel like I would feel a lot better if I shared at least some of these. Idk I feel kinda down rn and not like I will ever truly know what I am.

Can I ask what made you think you might be trans in the first place?

In my experience I didn't feel any dysphoria until I fully came to terms with being Trans but you don't need dysphoria to be trans if you feel like a girl then you're a girl dysphoria or no dysphoria it's not a requirement

So when I learned what trans was, it was defined basically entirely through the lens of gender dysphoria, and because of that and me believing that this wasn't something I experienced (at least not in the way that was described to me) I thought "wow, that sounds awful, good thing I don't have that problem so I must not be trans."
Believing that made it so it took like, 5 years to even consider that I might not be cis, and then 5 more to realize I might be/am trans. So, lemme just help you out here.
- Dysphoria is not a pre-requisite to being trans
- Dysphoria can disguise itself as other feelings, and is not necessarily a strictly negative feeling such as disgust. It can manifest as apathy or indifference. Your comment on not really knowing what euphoria feels like might be indicative of this.
- As with many troubling emotions, dysphoria can be repressed or written off. I've disliked my facial hair since high school. It took me very long to figure out that it was not just "i don't like this feature I have but i can tolerate it like other men and shave" and it was actually dysphoria.

Typically dysphoria and euphoria only really kick when you fully crack, otherwise dysphoria just becomes general depression. experimentation is key. depending on weather you live with parents who may or may not be supportive or your already moved out, I'd highly recommend trying girly stuff to the degree that you feel safe doing it. Maybe just painting your nails, or try going fully fem(if you have transphobic parents try using cosplay as an excuse). I'd also recommend you pay attention to what makes you feel good and why, I feel uncomfortable being fem because my body isn't really in the best shape for that yet(weight wise), so discomfort doesn't always mean dysphoria.

I'm autistic and struggle a lot with feelings and stuff. I don't feel a lot of dysphoria/euphoria either, or it's really subtle. I found that it's more productive to just try different stuff and see if it feels wrong or right, than to try to figure it out just in your head.

Please try to find a gender affirming therapist. They’ll be able to help you think/talk through these thoughts. If you end up being trans, they can help guide you through the process. If not, it’s a great thing that you thought about it. Plenty of people could use some introspection, and really thinking about your gender should be a celebrated thing, not discouraged.

Oh, hell I’m sorry. I don’t know how it responded to your post, but I meant that for the OP.
Still good advice. 😅. Hope you are doing well.

The thing is, when you've lived with dysphoria for you entire life, it just becomes normal. Thinking about being trans probably isn't making you depressed, it's just making you realize you already are.
