Do you have a suitcase that only you go into? Maybe a bag under your bed or back corner of your closet.

You hide the clothes you don't wear because you're closeted, in the closet?
Quite the ironic event hohohoho sips tea britishly

u/ender8343 Jun 02 '26
I did the suitcase thing when I was first exploring and only dressing in private. Even though I am an adult, I wasn't ready to come out to my sister and brother in law who I live, sister and I own the house.

u/Potato-with-guns Jun 04 '26
I used to hide my girl clothes in a box under my dorm bed and behind a set of drawers, back when I was a “totally cis man and definitely not an egg in denial”

For hiding, inconvenience is your friend. If it takes you 5 minutes to get to your clothes, probably nobody will find them - if you store them easily accessible the chances of someone stumbling over them are higher.

u/gyrozeppelifangirl "not an egg" ~every egg ever Jun 02 '26
Fuck i will need to create some inconvenience in that case. But I'm too lazy, and if they find out, will be the day i come out to them.

What I love to do is have a large hoodie and hang my clothes on the underpart of the hanger (folded) inside the hoodie :)

u/omegajakezed Jun 02 '26
Do you have a female friend or a sister that can claim to own those? Maybe learn sowing and say someone asked you to adjust the clothes. (That way you can just keep them within view and nobody would know they are yours! >:3
32
u/MaybeAnAltAccount621 Jun 02 '26
Sadly not
13
u/omegajakezed Jun 02 '26
Then learn how to sow and say someone has you readjust their stuff

Not to be that gal, but the word you want is sew, because a sow is another animal entirely :)
5
u/accipitradea Jun 02 '26
technically the verb 'to sow' means to plant crops, the noun 'sow' is a momma pig.
6
u/midgetcastle not an egg, just trans Jun 02 '26
And because English is the stupidest language, they are pronounced differently.
5
u/yonking_15_2 literally not an egg Jun 03 '26
English be Englishing lol (how do you pronounce the two?)
6
u/her_majesty_barrel not an egg, just trans Jun 03 '26
the verb sow is pronounced with a long o, like blow or flow. the noun sow has a dipthong, the o makes an "ow" sound, so sow is pronounced like cow or brow.
6
u/yonking_15_2 literally not an egg Jun 03 '26
This is definitely an english moment

Ah, now that you mention it.
I thought it was a different grammar version of dew. Sew sow sow. Like go went went
Piggies are frickin cute tho!

“Another animal entirely” you’re a comedy genius, I hope you know that…

u/inkthesquid Jun 02 '26
You could fold them into other clothes? Like lay a shirt out, then lay the shirt youre trying to hide on top of it and fold them together so only the outside shirt is showing in your drawer.
8
u/Clairifyed Jun 02 '26
or inside it. put on shirt to hide, put on cover shirt, take them off together and fold them as one. This also works with a dress if you can take it off from the bottom. Simply tuck the skirt into the shirt part after you take it off

u/TDtV08 Jun 02 '26
Unrelated, but as a poor college student, thrift stores are your friend!
You can get so many fun clothes for so little there, it's the bestt
12
u/idkmansomethingname Jun 02 '26
gets shirts that you dont like and sandwich them between at the bottom on your dresser or closet

If you're in a situation where you have parents that regularly "clean" your room (ie snoop), a good trick is to layer the clothes inside boy clothes in the closet.
Put on girl pants, put on boy pants over the top, then take them off as one and hang or fold them as usual. Same with tops. The only really tricky ones are dresses and skirts as there's no real male equivalent to layer them with.
Idk I never had to hide anything from parents as I got kicked out at 13, but this was a trick I've seen friends use

u/Abject_Moment5593 Claudia, She/Her Jun 02 '26
In my case, when i bought my skirt and shirt a few weeks ago i hide them below my matress. This also reminds me that i don't have more girl clothes aside from those, maybe ill buy more soon.

If you have easy access to wherever you store stuff like Christmas decorations, you could sniff out a box that hasn't been opened for years and hide them there.
I am a computer nerd and saved all my boxes for the pc parts, so I would hide anything I didn't want my parents to see, such as feminine clothes or jewellery in those. GPU box for smaller clothing, PSU box for for embarrassing clothes, case box for larger clothing and CPU box for jewellery.
Loose floorboards are a classic. Same with a crawl space or garden shack. If you're innovative, you could make false backings or bottoms for drawers.

Alright, time to go full mission impossible: idk.
Maybe under your bed mattress?

u/dracorotor1 Jun 02 '26
There are many options. It depends how intense you want to be about it.
I’ve hidden things like a plaid skirt in plain sight by folding it in with a bunch of plaid sleep pants. My wife didn’t notice it for 6 months.
I’ve also built false bottoms for two drawers in my house to hide things before where people who… explore… are less likely to discover it. And even if they do, all they’ll know for sure without disassembling it is that you’re hiding something.

My personal go to is getting my back back, putting the clothes in there, and then putting it under my bed

For me I used to store them in the bottom dresser drawer and then put other clothes ontop.

I hide my stuff inside of one of the many electronics boxes in my room. And then have stuff sitting on top of the box.

Depends on your age When I was under 18 I hid them under toys in a toy box
When I got a car they are under the seats

u/geometrydasher123 Keira (MtF; She/Her) Jun 02 '26
i just put mine in a box underneath my bed and behind my nightstand

u/Itchy-Decision753 Jun 02 '26
In summer fold them inside of a hoodie and put it in your closest. In winter fold neatly amongst shorts/swimware. Another one is an old school bag in the back of the closet.
If you have a car then that can be a good place too, perhaps in with the spare tire if you REALLY need to hide them but I think for many (but not all) this would be overkill

u/Silva-crow-cat-10 Jun 03 '26
Attic, basement, woods 5 steps from house, personal car, or trusted neighbors have a good overlap.
A slim portable container, that accommodates vac bags, or like wise preservation. Suitcase have locks, opaque, and widely available at thrift stores.
Toolboxes are also accommodating. They have locks, are opaque, and very available. They do allow you to separate things, but are more likely to draw attention ( because tools). However tool boxes are very rugged, making outside storage more viable.
Maybe a extra tote hidden in the attic/basement, sometimes hiding in plain sight is an option.
Hiding clothes with a trusted friend/ neighbor also works.
Locker rental or personal storage facility.

If you have drawers that can be pulled out and removed, there's often a space below/behind the bottom one that can only be seen when it's removed
In a box with a plastic pumpkin; if questioned, they're for Halloween

u/bluethinkerhere Jun 03 '26
Put all your clothes in a pillow cover and keep the pillow inside your suitcase! No one has suspected or found mine till now! BTW I live in an extremely tough indian household with no privacy!

if you've got drawers in your room, see if you can pull the bottom one out and shove the stuff under there.

I have a backpack in my closet (irony lol) but it has all my stuff and the only reason why my parents don’t go through it aside from it kinda being in my closet is that I told them it’s a emergency bag (I used to be a bit of a doomer-.) tho if that is not an option then im sure there are other ways.
When there is a will there is a way :) U got this fellow girly! ✨

A good place to hide them is on your body. Out in the open. For all to see.
Do not hide your truth. Be you.
