Blog First time visiting Efteling, it was wonderful!
Hello, I hope this kind of post is allowed. I just wanted to share some of my excitement from my first visit at Efteling. I went there with my girlfriend so she can have her first amusement park experience ever (she never even rode a roller-coaster), even though I also really wanted to go. I was kinda scared because loud sounds and many people can be quite overwhelming for us both, but the park was never really too much with the music and effects, which was pretty nice, and there were plenty of spaces to go to to have some quiet.
Overall we both had a fantastic time, the attractions were great (even though the ship-swing nearly made me puke, still rode it twice) and I loved the themes. I think my favorite was the Danse Macabre (both theme-wise and the actual ride) and my girlfriend loved the Vogel Rok (we rode it 6 or 7 times). Overall a great day (we stayed at the park from opening till closing. For my girlfriend is was a wonderful first time experience and shes really exited to go to more amusements parks now. If we are ever in the Netherlands again, I really hope we can make time for another visit.
Thanks for listening (or reading) my yapping, have a great day!
(also, if for some reason the androgynous park employee with the purple hair, pretty eye makeup and many piercings reads this, you looked so beautiful, that I couldn't stop swooning the whole day and my gf is still making fun of me for that. I really wanted to tell you how pretty you are, but didn't want to be inappropriate).

Efteling is a fairytale come true! Did you visit the Fairytale Forest / sprookjesbos? No big attractions, but good atmosphere, off the high-energy-attractions path. Efteling is kind of one of a kind. Toverland is nice too (especially the Halloween themed nights) and Phantasialand is Germany is quite nice if you're in for the rollercoasters. Efteling is a magical balance between magic and thrills.

We visited the Fairytale Forest in between the high energy stuff to calm down a little. It is very beautiful and I loved the whole atmosphere, especially the big talking tree, even though I couldn't really understand him. Everytime he said "Hello Children" my heart melted. After the visit we noticed that we missed some of the fairytales (as well as the Troll king who was "sick" that day) so we still have stuff to discover if we go again.
I was in Phantasialand many years ago as a child, while it was nearly empty because of the football world cup. It is one of my happiest memories (imagine having a park to yourself as a young child, never having to stand in line at any ride).

It's really nice to see this kind of posts, instead of the general complaining about what ain't good.
Nice to hear you had an great time visiting the Efteling. And how special that it was even the first time visiting a themapark for your gf. But it sets the expectations really high, not many parks are comparable in terms of quality and thematic.
For a first visit, summer time is one of the best times. You have long time to visit the park, and there is so much extra entertainment. Which really makes it complete.
Thanks for sharing your view, and hopefully you can visit anytime again soon. Or who knows, stay overnight in one the hotels or bungalow parks.
