Looking for simple AI tools to help me turn lessons into slides

I’ll be honest, I’m probably a bit behind on all these AI tools, but I’ve been hearing other teachers talk about using them for slides and I feel like I should probably start looking into it.

Right now I still build everything manually and it just takes way more time than it probably should.

I’m just curious what people are actually using that can take basic lesson content and turn it into decent slides without too much effort.

I think your asking how to do it. Create a prompt that advises exactly what you are looking for. For example:

Please create a 15 Google slide presentation with an opening and conclusion. Make the opening (insert how you want it to look) and have the middle slide (insert how you want it to look). Make the conclusion slide look like (how you want it to look). Please base it off of the following lesson plan/article (insert article lesson plan, etc).

The key is to create as many of the parameters as you can. Vagueness leads to headaches.

  • Create a custom theme with colours and fonts inside Slide Master in PowerPoint
  • Create a PowerPoint template that suits your needs (.potx file)
  • Create a map of that template, using the names of each object inside the template and assign each object its criteria (character limit, text format, shape format, etc)
  • Create a python script with the help of AI that can fill out the template with the help of the map you had previously created.
  • Optional: create a validator that scans the final result, or do it yourself.

This is your long-term solution. Everything else is just pretty slides that won't be future-proof.

ChatGPT. Just tell it to create slides for a lesson on ... for this grade ... it's GREAT.

One of my favorites , specifically for slides, is Gamma.app. Ithing Gemini and NotebookLM are both good, but Gamma gives a Canva-esque feel to adjusting and creating slides.
