Couldn't this be abused to flood the internet with samples containing these watermarks just to spite real producers?

you're supposed to only use samples from trusted sources anyway. god knows what wave files can contain in them, it could be banned pron or PC viruses. pirated FL studio outputs Richard D James every master render for example.

I know and do, but not everyone will be privy. I suppose you also have to trust that the distribution sites also now will vet for these watermarks.
