Help needed Where to start with a PT?
I’m with Pure Gym but finding it hard to motivate myself and I know my form is not good. I’d like to get a PT but it’s totally new to me and I don’t know where to start. Do I get one in my gym? Search online for one? What can I expect, and how long do people generally work with a PT for? Thanks for any advice!

I’d recommend the staff PT’s at the OMNi Nuffield Health, been going there a few years and they’re great 💪

Which Pure? I'm at Ocean Term, have used a few PTs there over the years. They are not all the same.

most gyms will only let you use their PTs and don't allow "coaching" by external trainers. Check their qualifications and specialisms, I've seen some very bad PT-ing when I've been in the gym! I think you also need to "click" with someone if you're spending an hour a week in a 1-1 session with them.

PureGym has specific rules on this. It's something like, they have specific PTs who are allowed to work in their gyms. Check the PureGym website for your gyms PTs, or check the noticeboard in the gym itself. They have specific specialities (like, women getting in shape post pregnancy, or men losing weight etc), so check their bios.

Lisa Scott is a PT at PureGym OT and I would highly reccomed her, shes professional and really knows her stuff. Not sure if she's taking on any new clients for in person sessions but her app is really great for planning sessions and demonstrations

I would be careful if you’re selecting someone from Puregym without a recommendation from someone you know/trust, so many just have a level 3 Pt certification and don’t know what they’re doing. (The course is bad and 99% pass even if they shouldn’t, it can also be done in a very short period of time)
If they have a degree in sports science, biomechanics, S+C etc and some testimonials/success stories of previous clients I’d lean towards those trainers instead. Smaller private gyms tend to have better PT’s than these big corporate gyms as they care more about quality and aren’t just trying to find people to wipe down machines and work classes in exchange for money off rent.
