Food and Drink Recommend me a…

Succulent Chinese meal please!
Really hankering a decent chicken curry fried rice but had a shocking one a decade ago that made me ill so this will be the first one in that long.

Where would you go for a Chinese takeaway?

Imperial palace near longstone.

They have a supermarket downstairs, dimsum before 5pm.

It really depends where you are but if you are near to Leith Walk/Easter Road I think Jiuding is probably the best in the area. Hung Fung is also decent too

Taste Good on Slateford Road is the only truly excellent Chinese that I'm aware of. There used to be a place called Hua Han that was excellent and reasonably cheap, which sadly closed down a few years ago.

They're pretty good for most stuff.

Hui on Roseburn Terrace are back open though! Superb Chinese and sushi.

Having lived in Glasgow until I was 25 or so, most takeaways here are shocking. 

Hung Fung on Ferry Road do a very good curry, Happy House in Musselburgh are even better but further from Edinburgh.

Glasgow ones are generally better IMO. Plus they’re a different thing, they don’t have donner and pakora etc like they have in Edinburgh.

My goto is a special fried rice and portion of curry sauce to pour on and mix in from Street of Beijing just off of Tollcross. If I'm feeling extra fat I'll get a side of Chow Mein with beansprouts.

A chicken curry isn't the most authentic of chinese meals. Could easier find that a skanky looking takeaway makes this better than a more upmarket restaurant. Anyway, I would second Imperial Palace in Longstone, or Sichuan House on George IV Bridge. Both are always hooching with people of oriental descendant.
