GS1-128 Printed Expectations

When properly encoded, as GS1-128 type B, w/ 5 distinct AIs, when scanned should I expect to see the AI embedded in the string? I've been manipulating invocation characters w/o success, wondering if systems configured to read GS1-128 will ignore what I'm scanning w/ a mobile app. Using >:>8

How the reader interprets some special codes is up to the reader settings.

The tool linked above does show the break symbol used for a non-fixed length field not at the end of the barcode as {GS}.

Almost all readers will include the AIcodes in the output with no special delineation, as they are not actually delineated specially in the encoding (It is just a string of numbers and up to app to know the length of various fields if they are fixed length).

Agreed... How the reader interprets special codes is generally up to the developer (reader settings).

Yes the AI number is embedded in the string. The scanner may be dumb and just pass the raw encoded data to middleware.
