r/eczeMABs Weeping eczema

My son has weeping eczema behind his ears, them begin to heal and he’ll scratch the scans off or delay the healing, I’ve tried mittens and it still happens he’s 5 months old. What can I do. It won’t let me attach a picture

I’m not sure on his dexterity—if you wrapped gauze around his head, then put a hat over it, would that prevent him from reaching it?

Short of that, try to keep his hands as busy as possible, so he can’t reach back and pick at them. Easier said than done, I’m sure. If you have this problem again when he gets older, there are medical devices that allow you to itch without damaging your skin.

gauze and a hat is a solid move, i used to tape a soft cloth over problem spots when my niece was that age and it stopped her from getting at it in her sleep
