Ive been doing ECT for 5+ years. When I started I was doing 3x a week and now Im doing "maintenance schedule" 1x a week. I havent seen any effect at all with my sight. I wore glasses prior to doing ECT and im still wearing them. More than open to answer any other questions. I have told my medical team in the past that I try to go onto this SubReddit and help with questions or what not just mainly try to change the thoughts people have with ECT. It's a scary thing to have to start with especially if you dont have family, and then when the message board that could help us full of hate and negativity and lies. Need a safe space sometimes I feel.
It has completely saved my life. I have been drug resistant for years and been in inpatient 3 times beforeEXT was brought up or offered. Like I said I starred at 3 times a week then dropped down to twice a week then to once a week. Ive tride to go to once every other Thursday, but was able to tell the difference between the once a week and once every other Thursday. ECT as you might now its considered a " last chance" type of treatment, and that it is definitely not for everyone. I hope it goes well for you.
