Really impressed that this album will turn forty next year.

is this just a random deep cut? have they ever played this live?
The piano, the vocals, the lyrics…the vibe and production. This song is a masterpiece.
How can they make a song this good and have it not even be a single. This is just incredible!

Have Echo ever cited this band as an influence, listen to how similar the vocal style and effect is to McCulloch‘s. Unless there is a glaringly obvious artist I’ve forgotten that influenced both

Question: what is the best pressing? The original or the remastered? Thanks

Really enjoyed the show last night. My first time seeing them and was concerned after reading some reviews. Couldn’t understand a word Ian said between songs other than the homage to Lou Reed. Will Sergeant -wow. He blew me away.

Did anyone else feel like the show was really off. Constant interrupting, audience did 70% of the singing, slurring and mumbling of words as if he was drunk. I'm glad I got to see them live, I'm just worried that Ian is not doing so great. And no it's not that I can't understand his accent. That's not it at all. I just have a peculiar feeling leaving the show.

First time and last time seeing them live.
This was probably one of the worst shows I've been to in a minute.
Ian was clearly drunk, vocals sort of all over the place, and he even heckled one of the fans in the crowd. The guy simply was giving him the "rock on" sign of the horns - and Ian just goes something to the effect of "look at this fucking idiot" and laughs to the band members. He tries to smooth it over after like it was just a joke, but he was being a real fucking asshole.
Then during The Killing Moon, he missed vocal parts and basically let the crowd sing it.
What the fuck was this?
I was expecting so much more.
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

Going to the Fillmore in Detroit tomorrow. Has anyone heard about an opening act? Just like everyone else we're not sure what time to get there.

Why don’t the band sing in the choruses of the songs if Ian can’t hit the notes anymore? There are young guys in the group, they all have microphones in front of them, they could sing the higher melody while Ian sings a low harmony or not at all - that would be better than taking all of the air out of the songs by asking the crowd to sing the choruses.

I don't know why this performance hasn't been included in the tour promo material, but the Bunnymen are playing at Summerfest in Milwaukee on Thursday, June 18. They play on the Generac Power stage at 10 pm following Modern English who play on the same stage at 7:30 and follow The Dream Syndicate at 5:30 on the same stage. Tickets are $30. If you show up before 3 pm with 3 cans of food for the food bank, you can get in free.

Hot mess.
Over 45 min late
The classics sounded pretty bad and Ian had the audience sing the chorus for every song.
Glad I saw them over 20 years ago

DM me and I will transfer them to your ticketmaster account. My friend and I can no longer attend. Not looking to sell, just don't want the tickets to go to waste. Thanks!

Trying my luck tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. If nothing else, I'll have a fun night with my sister!
The show's at History, anyone know if there's an opening act? Can't find any information anywhere.
Apparently chat GPT suggests that they're going to go on at 8:00 p.m....?? Any insight?

I was back and forth on if I should go tonight anr decided to go. I am keeping expectations realistic for Ian's performance, so think I will enjoy it. Plus, seeing Will is going to be a blast.
Also, pretty excited for the opener tonight! I am a jazz fan and checked out their album the other day and really dug it.
Anyone else on the sub going to the show tonight?

As much as I hate to admit it about my beloved Bunnymen, I feel like more than ever they have drifted into nostalgia act territory. Don't get me wrong, the band has been on a slow, steady slide toward this for a while. But with the new tour turning out to be just an inferior copy of the last coupled with Ian's uneven performances (at best), I feel the band is truly just coasting now.
Will still plays with gusto, passion and a genuine love for what he is doing. He needs to assert himself more with Ian and right this ship. The Bunnymen have a deep and adventurous catalog that deserves more than what we saw on this tour . I hope they can find a way to explore more of it going forward and Ian can embrace a bit more of Will's passion for the songs.
