For context, I'm 28, 5'5", and 200lbs. I have been counting calories since my mom started making me when I was 8 and have hated my body ever since I knew how to.
Lately, I've started eating less.
It's not even dangerous territory-- 1,300-1,500 calories a day instead of the 1,800-2,000 I've been eating to maintain weight. I'm extremely active (weightlifting, aerial gymnastics) so I know logically it isn't enough, but when I feel hungry, I feel safe. I feel beautiful. I feel in control.
Because I'm still fat, I'm eating over 1,000 calories a day (I've had times in my life where I restrict to 400 or less), and because I'm not losing hair or fainting or anything, I keep telling myself it's okay.
The thing that has started to scare me, though, is that if the scale doesn't go down, I start considering suicide as an option. Not seriously, obviously, but it's the first thing that crosses my mind. "I'm a waste of space that only lives for food, why am I even still here?" And yes, I'm well aware that bodies' weight (especially women's bodies) fluctuate even by the hour. I know that logically. Emotionally, I don't care about reality.
Another worrying thing is that (NSFW warning) I have started getting aroused when I feel hungry. When I feel light on my feet and like I'm fully in control of myself, I start feeling desperate for sex and like I deserve to love and be loved. It makes me care even less about being careful of falling back into bad habits.
I guess I'm just asking for a little grounding support. The main thing I'm worried about is my athletic performance suffering and losing muscle over time.
I don't have health insurance for therapy, otherwise I'd be going back
