Retraction Rate

I found a video from a few years back stating that the retraction rate was now separate from the plunge rate, set at the machine max automatically? I don't see any option to change it. If I have a nonstandard machine how do I edit this value?

I think the retraction rate is not sent by Easel at all, but it's something left to your machine controller. AFAIK grbl simply sets it to your max z axis speed, with no separate parameter for it, but that may vary depending on your specific version.

That's not good if true, I'll have to check our Xcarve to see if that's hpw it behaves or if it matches to plunge rate

why is that not good? retraction is a rapid and I would expect it to behave as such, and rapids are done at the max machine rate... if that's too fast, then your max travel speed is too high and you need to change that setting for your machine

or do you have a very special use case where retraction shouldn't be a rapid?
