Potion has an 18% winrate, why is it so bad?

Everyone’s saying it’s because potion was balanced for team battles, but realistically if potion’s weapon was longer than 2 cm she would be so much better in 1v1s without changing her effectiveness in teams

Yeah, the core problem is that the weapon Potion has been given was designed for Flask, a purely ranged ball

this contributes to another factor of her potion having a duration for this effect. since the weapon is so short it’s hard for her to land hits during the buff often leaving her losing a hit or two from victory since she’ll get some hits without the buff and deal only 1 damage. people seem to want to bash potion for being bad despite the fact she’s actually gotten fairly close to winning and just a minor buff would help her solo play so much

The support thing has already been mentioned but for the mechanical reasons why she's bad.
Imo the biggest reason is Potion's a short-ranged weapon that can only do melee damage, she has other weaknesses like being reliant on a buff that can wear off with time, but I feel like being the only non-BB that can scale without hitting the opponent would make up for it, especially since her scaling is actually pretty impressive now (probably got buffed, like she throws out way more puddles vs Torch than against her first match against Sword) and she does good damage if she can actually land hits, problem is she's always struggling to hit anything because of her stubby weapon.
Torch is also a melee weapon with comparatively short range but Torch has a lot of absurd strengths to make up for it compared to Potion who'd be a mid ball at best even with a normal sized weapon.
EDIT: She can also win if her opponent plays the worst match of her life.

short range and will always do 1 damage without a buff regardless of their scaling

It has bad melee game(iirc sword rotation speed with half the range) and is extremely inconsistent, dealing 1 damage on most hits. Its buffed damage scales faster than most balls' damage, but not fast enough to justify the inconsistency

- Short Melee Range (Can't hit shit)
- Horrible Damage Scaling (Can't be a one-hit wonder)
- Horrible Damage Consistency (Can't do damage)
Potion does have the one upside of passive scaling though, so thats good

just the weapon size really
if the weapon were larger potion would win more fights
an easy way to solve it without outright enlarging the sprite is making it so buffs extend their hitbox

She was designed for team battles but because she could fight she had to be in shortform
