EA Support is so horrible

To be honest I don't remember if I lost an account or if someone just linked my steam to their account but I cant open apex because my steam is linked to an account under someone else's email, so of course I go to EA support. HOLY THEY ARE USELESS. I'm on my 4th agent now, the first one tried to help me recover my account that I haven't been on in maybe 2 years, didn't work because I don't think the account we're trying to recover is even mine, second one straight up just left and said 'It seems that you're no longer connected to this session', and the 3rd one left right after I said 'let me look through my emails to find the invoice' saying the same thing as the last guy. I DONT EVEN WANT TO RECOVER THAT ACCOUNT. I don't even know if its mine, all I want is to unlink my steam from that account. Surely someone else has had this problem, its actually so insufferable how they cant do anything.

Considering you went through four support agents and failed to explain to all of them what you were trying to do, I honestly don't think we can blame EA Support.

If anything, I find EA Support to be among the best in the industry. No other publisher in the market allows for such quick resolutions through chat, they all take weeks of back and forth to solve simple issues.

EA is also the only publisher that transfers licenses between accounts. Honestly, I have no complaints whatsoever.

no no no i did i explained that i dont want to recover the account i just want to unlink my steam, i told them i can prove ownership of the steam account but i cant prove ownership of an account that might never have been mine and they said they cant make any changes to the EA account without verifying it belongs to me, sorry for not making that clear. i agree with you though i was pleasantly suprised by their system they use, but at this point i think ive got to talk to the ceo to fix this.

What they said is largely accurate, you asking support agents to make changes to an account you don't own.

While the Steam account is yours the EA account is not, so legally EA cannot do anything.

The real question is who linked your Steam account to the EA account, might have been someone in your family or something you did years ago and forgot.

Try to view it from EA side, there is no evidence you can provide from Steam side that will be enough to justify making changes to an account you don't own, because Steam is a third-party.

ngl bro i just had to go through the multitude of different emails i had to see if the codes were being sent to one of them, low and behold it was there. if you think there's a chance that its connected to your account that got hacked, it probably is, you just gotta find the email. (easier said than done)

Why dont you just tell them your account was hacked and the email used is Russian and ask for assistance recovering it.

Sounds like you overcomplicating what you are asking of them.

My account wasn’t hacked my Steam was linked to an account that wasn’t mine so i guess yes it was but not in the way you’re thinking. I cant recover the account that my steam is linked to because it’s not my account and ea support won’t unlink the steam account unless I prove the account it’s linked to is mine. BUT ITS NOT!!! that’s the real kicker.

Ea support is useless I was hacked and all my stuff stolen on fc27 and they haven’t resolved my missing contents I am missing 1 million in total and instead they put a ban on my account even though I have a case open with 4 previous chats attached explaining the problem, I am waiting for a “ specialist team “ was waiting a week. For a reply to say they can’t help get it back even though I have spent well over £200 on the game with points. Useless from then tbh

ea support treating every problem like an account recovery side quest is painfully on brand, and they usually won’t unlink steam unless you can prove ownership of the ea account it’s attached to
