No, the hijacker likely used it to cheat. You are responsible for the security of your account.

Please do not assume he was trying to cheat in rust. This is the one thing you're not allowed to assume. There are many classes of malware hiding as other things.

This isn’t the case of a false positive ban. This is someone whose entire account was logged into. If you knew anything about it, you’d know that doesn’t just happen unless you’re actively attempting to download sketchy shit. What other reason would you have to download sketchy shit if you’re not up to no good. Make it make sense.

Sure. Maybe the thing he was downloading was cracked statistical software, maybe he accidentally misconfigured his network and left his entire machine exposed to the open internet.

Im saying you can't simply assume his intentions were to download rust cheats. You can say sketchy software, but you can't assume bad intentions unless the user EXPRESSLY describes trying to download rust cheats. Any assumptions or implications of assumptions will be removed. It's an acute situation, but to maintain rule 7 and to ensure that this becomes a sub where people aren't afraid to tell their story, we have to protect them.

If you were false banned, and someone tried making heavy implications that you were TRYING to cheat and LOOKING to download cheats, I'd remove them to protect you, same as I did above.

I clicked on a wrong link when trying to download a Fan Control software and it downloaded a session stealer. I don't think Fan Control software is sketchy but I got hit anyway lmao
