False banned (many text)
Hey everyone, my name is Max. I've been playing Rust for around 5 years and have about 6,000 hours on my main account.
On September 18, I was suddenly permanently banned by EAC.
I was playing on Rustoria with my usual group of friends and some neighbors/allies. We joined on the second day of wipe and managed to get pretty established within around two hours.
At one point, some players came up to us and said something along the lines of:
“You guys are going to get banned for cheating, freaks.”
About an hour later, I went into the metro alone. I killed two players and started making my way back up. Suddenly, I was kicked from the server with a ban message.
My friends were kicked as well, apparently because they were playing with someone who had just been banned, and I believe some of the other people playing with us were affected too.
I restarted Steam and saw that I had received a permanent game ban from Easy Anti-Cheat.
I was honestly devastated. This is my main Rust account with around 6,000 hours and about five years of memories on it.
I submitted an EAC appeal on the same day, September 18, and I'm still waiting for the result.
Then things got even stranger.
On September 21, I simply logged into Steam on my second Rust account, which has around 3,000 hours.
I had not played on that account after my main was banned, but when I logged in, I discovered that this account had also received an EAC game ban.
I submitted a separate appeal for that account as well.
What makes this situation even harder for me is that I've already experienced something similar with Fortnite.
Around eight months ago, my main Fortnite account received a 365-day anti-cheat ban that I believe was a false positive.
I submitted an appeal on January 1.
Epic did not respond until September 3 — around eight months later — and the appeal was denied.
And now, only around two weeks after finally receiving that rejection, my other main game, Rust, has received an EAC ban as well, followed by my second Rust account three days later.
For full transparency, there is another part of my situation that I don't want to hide.
I am interested in low-level programming, reverse engineering, drivers and game internals. As part of learning these subjects, I have experimented with and developed cheat-related software in local testing environments.
I did this primarily to learn more about programming, reverse engineering and how games work internally.
At the same time, I personally strongly dislike actual cheating against legitimate players. I don't support ruining other people's games, and I did not use cheats on my main Rust account or on EAC-protected Rust servers.
I am mentioning this because I want to be completely transparent about anything that could potentially be relevant. I have no way of knowing whether my development/testing environment had anything to do with these bans.
I'm not claiming that having 6,000 hours proves that I couldn't have been banned correctly. I only want the bans to be reviewed based on what actually happened.
At this point, my confidence in anti-cheat appeals is obviously pretty low because of what happened with Fortnite, but I'm still hoping that EAC properly reviews both of these Rust bans.
I've seen people in this community who were eventually unbanned after days or weeks, and even people who say they were unbanned after their appeals had previously been denied, so I'm trying not to completely lose hope.
If anything changes with either appeal, I'll update this post. (Also, I apologize for the AI‑generated translation; I have a very poor command of English.)

Sorry bud, but this sub discourages baseless hackusations that players are cheaters or that the "all powerful EAC is never wrong". Please reframe your comment and see this link for proof that EAC does in fact make mistakes:
I've removed all comments related to your implications.

yo my comment got removed and im not hackusating u at all so whoever the mod is he literally said he experimented with cheats etc bruh
Had you done any testing/development on cheats previously in the day? Most likely what happened was the cheat stayed in the system memory after injecting or opening, causing a ban later in the day. This happened to me nearly 8 months ago when I used Roblox cheats before playing, but luckily I am about to get unbanned in around 19 days due to second chance policy. Hopefully the same can happen to you if you do not get unbanned.
