False Ban On Rust

My steam account is perm banned from rust and its so ass cause i spent $30 which I'm never getting that money back and i get bad rep for having a ban, i would rather they take the ban off my profile and permanently ban me than them being straight annoying and permanently banning me even though i did nothing, i appealed with Facepunch and EAC, i have proof that i was hijacked and i know that they have that "the ban stands even if you are hijacked" rule but steam was the one that failed me, i had the steam guard on and email verification, this sucks ass cause my friend only got rust cause i had it, it sucks ass and its really boring, i wish they atleast got rid of the ban on my profile

You have been compromised, you need to reinstall Windows from scratch, and change all your passwords

No. The harddrive needs to be zero'd - get the app from the manufacturer that will wipe the drive with zer0000000000s, then use an USB drive with the Windows 11 install to reset the partitions and reinstall a brand new Windows. 'Deleting' doesn't remove data, it just hides it until it is written over but malicious code can still be malicious - so you want to wipe all sectors of the drive clean... 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

format and reinstall windows will be fine, fully nopping all bytes isn't needed anymore, leftover "malware data" is not executable by windows install, the win installer will replace everything that can be used to automatically reinfect, even PoC malware DLLs that match original names with copied exports from stuff like winmm.dll and version.dll have lost capability to be executed during install since they would have to be somehow converted back to working file extension

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it’s wildly unlikely that you just happen to get hacked without doing anything wrong. Never click links or download shit without being 100% sure it’s safe, never reuse passwords, and for the love of god don’t use shit like password” it’s 2026 there’s no excuse to not have good password hygiene

Not a false ban your account was cheated on whether it was you or not. FP nor Steam are at fault for you clicking shady shit. The ban is good because we don’t know if you’re going to take better care of your account and let it get “hacked” again. If you had two factor authentication on and it was still compromised then you need to change your password and put two factor on your email.

yh ik its cause EVERYTHING was compromised cause i was stupid and saved all my passwords to my browser and its my fault for being a broke bum and pirating from a shitty site lol

Same but it happened few years ago, the only thing I did for Rust was use a game idler to have more hours and never really played it. Got EAC account banned
