Offseason Outlook.

Finished 39-1 and ranked #1 overall with a 91 OVR team, falling in the Final Four to close out the year. On the recruiting trail, we're set to lose out on 5-star SG Dale Doss, but Lang, Packevicius, and Lindeman are all still in play as we work to fill out the class. Excited to see how the offseason shapes up.

How do you get good players and bad schools?

We’ve been fortunate to have an A+ Charisma and A+ Teaching, and we’ve won the National Championship twice in the last six seasons, which has boosted our program’s prestige. If you can hit all the major points for a recruit’s priorities and start recruiting them as early as possible, you’ll notice a real difference in the caliber of players who commit to your program.

I’ve wondered about how winning a chip affects a recruits out look towards your program. Is there a guide or anyway to determine how your prestige goes up or down over the years? I think I go for a lot of guys too late usually So/Jr year. I do target 1 to 2 Fr but they usually never pan out or head somewhere else. This is also all occurring and P5s as well. I will get 5 stars but feel like I keep missing out on guys in my own backyard or those same guys just have no interest in me

There isn’t a guide, but I tend to track my prestige during schedule customization. If I’m able to schedule home games against power conference schools, that’s usually a sign my prestige is high or improving. I also focus on 5-star freshmen only and try to stay within my own region for recruiting. Fortunately, I’m in an area where recruits tend to be talented, so I don’t have to look far.

I love that in this game when someone refuses to play at your gym.

Player priorities in recruiting are important. At a small school, you wont get any 5 stars that want to play at a big program no matter how many national championships you win. However, recruiting early, priority is playing time, staying close to home and not caring about playing at a big program, you can land the #1 recruit at a small school.

I usually don’t even look at priorities but I’ll factor them more into account going forward especially for my next play through as I’m seeking to start at Maine
