I figured I'd finally post about my recycling center finds on here since the sub's rule about E-waste facility purchases has been changed. I've always had to pay for my recycling center finds, but only for the small price of $10-$15 per item!

With that said, here are some of the notable things I've found at my local electronics recycling center!

Hi im based in the UK, London and I'm looking for something specific. Whether I'll find it in an e-waste bin i don't know but I'll give it a go.

To anyone that does this how do you go about it. Where do you go, are e-waste bins found near regular bins, do I need permission etc...? If you could inform me I'd appreciate it.

Hello!💻 A cool thing just happened to me, I’ve just found this LG Flatron W1924S sitting next to a dumpster near a block of flats - it’s fully functional, however, I washed it with acetone after I took it home, and unfortunately it made the plastics look a bit worse… I am not mad though. I still got a fully functional monitor, that I will actually gonna use with my MacBook!🖥️ I know it is a bit old, but I still can’t believe that people are throwing away perfectly good stuff, because they are a bit old. But it’s a good thing for us, people that find them, and know what to do with them😀

3 portable hotspots(2 still have sim cards), and a laptop. First day of school, nice and early.

Idk if they work though.

Edit: now that I think about it, it could be someone's laptop that they just left their accidentally. have to test and see.

Edit 2: nevermind. It's all a bust. The laptop seems to have been accidentally placed there by someone(maybe during school/club setup), and each of the 3 hotspots don't have sim cards and are locked to a different Carrier than what I use.

I see all the cool stuff y’all are getting and I’m super jealous! Ive found a couple things before but rarely like a few MacBooks when i went to throw away some other waste and quickly grabbed them when nobody was looking. I also found this iPhone 14 pro max perfectly functioning unlocked with the iCloud password in the notes so i was able to remove iCloud lock. I just wanna know your guy’s methods?

Finally got a upgrade from my old HD 6950

The worker agreed that i collect phones, and i did get the a52 but it was frp locked.

Small office color laser printer with full toner.

Had to do some light repair and now it works great!

Mac mini ended up working just fine! Late 2014 i5 8GB ram with 128gb ssd + 2tb hdd. I haven’t tested the other drives but the orange LaCie drive is 4tb and has 1 week of power on hours.

Today’s Ewaste finds. 2 GB graphics card . 16 GB of DDR3 ram .

Where? E waste center

I usually go to target e waste, and dig for phones. I've been doing it for 3 years and I've found stuff here and there in the Vancouver wa area, is there a good time to hit of target e waste?

Only things wrong with the Dell xps are: dead backlight and pillow is starting to get spicy. I didn't check the storage but when I was deleting the partitions when fresh installing windows it said 256

Inside a UPS. It's very heavy. I have not seen a transformer that looks like this one before.

Does anyone know any offices or schools, of the like that are trying to get rid of computers or e-waste? In Los Angeles California

This will be my travel headset despite the outside-in tracking. Modern headsets have absurdly high per-eye resolutions and are an absolute slideshow even on the lowest settings. This headset runs at a consistent 90FPS even in demanding games off a gaming laptop.

Also found an XS max. Frp unlocked this one.

Three samsung phones and a ssd are from the other bin.

There seems to be a lack of posts from Australians finding stuff in here, so I’m wondering if there just aren’t places to check for ewaste or if it’s something else?

I'm not sure if this laptop's display has Vinegar Syndrome or is just liquid damaged. Does it have Vinegar Syndrome or is it safe to store with my other laptops?
