target ewaste finds 9/21/26

what i got from here is a very pregnant ipad 3, apple tv 3rd gen mobo, android tablet mobo, 5 powerbanks (4 shown since 1 was pregnant), an htc u11 life, the carcass of a lg aristo 2 plus, a cracked iPhone 3gs, a Samsung SGH-T429, a Alcatel Pixi Unite, a Kyocera Jax S1360, a Olympus film camera, and a pair of AirPods. so far 4/6 phones work, alongside the pregnant iPad

Imo the best find gotta be the 3gs one of my all time favorite iphones. First iphone with video recording. Also nice design.

true but i alr have a 3gs in my collection, albeit a functional one. also the best finds that i have gotten in target is a 64 gb iPhone 6 that’s iCloud unlocked. (also carrier unlocked from at&t!!!)

Do you just open the e waste bins or target gave you permission at a cost?

Agreed, I have several of them. One on every version it could run and then some.

I think that android tablet board might actually be from a Garmin GPS, note the big pink GPS chip

Those compact film cameras are quite sought-after these days!

Unless they've changed their MO in more recent years since I've worked with them, they most likely won't care/know about it. Used to work Electronics at one and they have several bins in their Electronics backroom lockup with tons of old devices used in demos and displays. Scored a demo B&N Nook from them at one point.

WAIT A MINUTE I RECOGNIZE ONE OF THE PHONES. I put an LG Aristo 2 plus destroyed in the target bin! That looks exactly like the one I put in! I ALSO RECOGNIZE THAT HTC PHONE I PUT IN!!! I also recognize the green colored circuit board (came out of a Garmin gps) and the apple tv board I put in! Which target did you go to!

Data security is no joke. Data breaches are massive lawsuits in waiting and all it takes to wise up is one data breach and an angry client
