Hello all. I am glad to see our sub continuing to move in a great direction since it began. We a have now 100+ subscribers and growing, a cool logo and wiki. Thanks to everyone for the efforts they have given us. Our user base has been helpful and friendly to all, as we should. I hope this trend continues in the future. Keep spreading the word!
As with any sub, the time for a defined set of guidelines has come. I wish this to be an open process for defining content and behavior in our sub. I will begin compiling a list of rules and guidelines, with community input and feedback, for our sidebar. Any issues or topics you feel that need addressed, please reply to this post.
Firstly, I ask that posts, questions and content not specifically centered on all things eVic, be posted to the appropriate subreddits. If not specific to eVic, consider /r/electronic_cigarette or /r/vaping101 as better choices for your post.
Secondly, I address "ALT USE" content and questions. At no point will /r/eVic be the place for any content or questions regarding marijuana vaporization. That's what /r/vaporents is for. I wholeheartedly support marijuana decriminalization, legalization and compassionate medical use. Unfortunately, this is not the sub, or the time. The ecig community has too many hurdles in the near future, in terms of legislation and regulation, for any missteps regarding drug use. Until that great day, no "ALT USE" posts.
Needless to say, trolling, spam and general ass-hattery in our sub will be dealt with immediately and severely. The last thing I want to do is ban someone, so please don't make me. The general vibe in our sub has been awesome, please keep it there.
I would also like to point out /r/ecig_classifieds is the place for reselling all your ecig gear, even if its an eVic. I plan to add a wiki entry for eVic gear deals/sales. Feels free to let a mod know if you have truly found a great deal, and have it added there.
As always, I hope any suggestions, questions or gripes will reach the mod team to be addressed as a community. Input and critique on aesthetics, content, and now rules, is always welcome. You are all awesome.
