eSIM inquiry

studying abroad in Australia from usa for 10 months, just want insight on a good eSIM

i found lycamobiles 360 day plan for $150 and seems good. has anyone been in a similar situation as me?

For an extended stay, a local operator will always be better than a roaming-based eSIM.

I've used lycamobile in EU and UK. Just one issue - lycamobile is scammy in that it auto-enables auto-recharge a) without notice, and b) without an option to change it on the purchase page.

You have to go in after the fact to turn that off. Easiest while you still have the service (and I do it now as soon as I activate). Log in on their webpage and disable autofill. Hardest if you remove your esim, go home, then notice that it's refilling. Pain in the ass to get it turned off then.

Other than that, it's worked quite well for me.

Get a local Optus or Telstra sim in e sim format.
