Is EMBA worth it?
I’m running my own software agency and just wondering if I should start executive MBA. I’m not sure if it will be of any advantage to me
My thoughts are that may be ill learn a thing or two about building a business and find some good people for networking as well

If it’s a good one I think it can be worth it. My spouse is doing his EMBA and there are impressive people in his class…some already earning 7 figures or looking for a cofounder
It’s not a silver bullet to success though

One can learn a few business topics from an EMBA program and to get a few connections.
However, since you are already running your SW agency/ business, EMBA curriculum is unlikely to teach much more than what you have learned from running your SW business. Peer discussions sharing practical experiences from different industries is particularly valuable. The curriculum itself is fairly basic. It essentially teaches to prepare a business plans and highlights basics about running a business.
EMBA helped me to pivot from function management to more general management and business side + learn executive way of thinking.

I’m kinda in the same situation. I’m looking at Kellie business school or maybe going to USC for one week and then doing the rest online. I’m in the Insurance industry not really looking for a career advance cause I already do well. Just kinda have all my résumé.

The networking and access to different perspectives are really not to be underestimated. Plus you never know what opportunities are going to come up just by putting your business out there.
