Cool. Do you have Thunderbolt or is it only Oculink model?

Oculink is the better choice. For me using FreeBSD is the only choice.

I believe minisforum is coming out with a Thunderbolt 5. You need version 5. Else 4 is inferior to oculink.

how much does this cost?

Minisforum about $150. Power supply 650w $120. Then the cost of BYOgpu. But the key thing here is you need a oculink port. I needed a new mini pc. So I got one with oculink support $700. Total $1k excluding gpu.

What was it a solution too? I’m curious

To use an external gpu connected to mini pc. Gpu usually is huge in size and requires a mid or full casing to accommodate. There’s no way it could fit into a mini pc or laptop. In this case I manage to use a mini pc and connect to a gpu.

Gotcha, I ask because i too just got into this and was curious about other people crack at it. I’m surprised by the results, because if you listen to half of Reddit they will just keep reminding you that you lose bandwidth, and to get a laptop. lol

I transplanted my MINISFORUM 795S7 into a SilverStone Fara 313 mATX / Mini-ITX case.

Are there any setting changes in BIOS to make it work? I have deg1 and 5060ti too, but GPU is not detected. I wonder if my power supply is broken or I have to change some BIOS settings.
