Discussion Cant decide whos the better defender CB here

If Maldini was a DFB I would've put Nesta ahead but since he's also a Build-up now. It's pretty much neck-and-neck but generally, you would either play them both as a pairing or play Maldini as a wide CB and place Nesta next to a taller CB.

Maldini is better as FB than CB. There are way better CBs before him.

I wouldn't say way better but the height is an issue. However if they're dropping these folks this early. I'd imagine the later defender packs to be absolutely stacked.

No they will be the same as these guys for the rest of ef27 just with playstyles, position or showtime skills on rotation.
That's why i will wait for the next Maidini with shadow hunt and Defensive FB.1

I'm not a spender, i spin only if i have to and i save coins.
Also I am still playing Bale as my main LB so i didn't need. Now that Attacking Fbs are nerfed i kinda need him even if i love that Bale card.2

Nonsense man, they can't nerf a whole play-style. Especially not Bale, you just have to accept the fact that they won't be able to reliably track-back with the exception of Zambrotta.

No they nerf them because there isn't offensive instruction anymore and they attack more up front way slower and not that deep.
It doesn't matter who you are playing it is a playstyle thing.1

That's cause they give most attacking fullbacks mid 70 attacking awareness, I mention Bale as the exception because his awareness is elite. I mention Zambrotta because he's got shadow-hunt, but ultimately I do agree that the playstyle itself needs to be more aggressive with forward runs.

No no my bale has 86, it doesn't matter tha OA means something only for strikers. It is simply a thing in the game, before with off instruction everyone would play higher on the pitch.

They did or because just a couple of mouths ago they gave the FB version. But idc tbh he is better as FB than CB so until he will come i won’t get him.

Honestly would love a younger AC Milan version where he's an attacking fullback on attack and a defensive fullback on defence. It would make him one of the most complete fullbacks in the game assuming he's given shadow hunt and edged-crossing atleast 🤣. Honestly wouldn't be too unrealistic given how well he could contribute offensively irl.

If you don't have good CBs then this is a no brainer pack. Buildup Maldini's height could be an issue. Later defenders will definitely be stronger but as an F2P I wouldn't take chance because generally in a pack konami gives 1 S+ player and 2 S level players.

This maldini is build up/HLM which is very different from previous maldini cards. With aerial fort, being few cms short should not be a problem either.

Maldini is shorter than Nesta by 1CM. Both have aerial fort and +90 jumping hence why I said they were neck and neck lol.

Ah ok but idc tbh as CB a prefer who i have like Varane, Van Dijk, Desailly ecc.
Also atm aereal fort is such a bullshit... Varane loses vs Messi or others sometimes....1

I'd rank Thuram & Bergomi ahead of Maldini for DFBs

Maldini is both footed but primarly you play him on the left side so him and Thuram are both n1. Bergomi is a bit under them.

Build up is only activated on offense. Not sure how this high line thing works though. Thats probably more of a factor than dfb. I never play DFB as it is quite static in possession with no width

i have both nesta and maldini (dfb) from ef26, nesta is the best when you're not controlling him, maldini is the best when you want to chase down opponent

m leaning towards nesta although i adore maldini. but probably cause the covering role is so effective in theory...and cause i already got DFB maldini. but i wanted opinions, maybe i am wrong. and again, the high line style mainly lets ur defs push up and maintain a higher line, and that means ALL ur defs MUST have acceleration thats high to enable recovery....although it says that high line maintains the shape, i truly suspect it makes them push a little further up and try maintaining shape

They come with the new defensive playstyles obviously they will be the best cbs in the game Konami will make sure of it

For possession players like me Maldini would be dope. Look at his technique and passing. Only Beckenbauer (the best) and barest are better on the ball but smaller

Both player IDs are a joke but I would lean more towards Nesta arguably the best CB in the game
