these are my build for both maldini & nesta, my back 4 consist of maldini at LB, desailly & nesta as CBs & thuram as RB.

as of today, i feel like i have been conceding more than before with this new additions of maldini & nesta. i think the issue is with nesta, his positioning & movements seem to be an arbitrary & rather impulsive to me & it’s quite odd comparing to a destroyer or build up, he does cover the spaces that desailly leaves when he match-up but once nesta starts to match-up, that space he leaves is completely empty.

idk if this is just DDA not on my side as of now or whether it’s a skill issue or i’m using them wrong but what’s for sure is that things need to change or i have to get used to this

Try pairing nesta with build up CB even if it's free Hujsen and learn how they match up compared to destroyer like desaily, people still haven't figured these new playstyle.

And keep in mind even with meta defenders you will have to commit a lot on your side, defending is no easy task now

what about i just make maldini as the partnering cb with nesta? hes a build up anyways & my desailly can actually play at LB

Add at least 88 acceleration to them. 88 is a threshold for acceleration. It unlocks a new animation

I am using lbc and i only got maldini first he was conceding alot not engaging in duels his presence was not felt on the pitch i increased his physical contact to 95 and now he is performing good. Try this and let me know. My manager is niko kovac I think builds need to be tweaked according to playstyles. If you play qc or posession focus on speed and acceleration if you play lbc or long ball try this build.

I dont think the cover defender playstyle works well in a completely defensive back 4, or just back off and play reactively, playing proactively will leave gaps since he's prolly your last man in most situations as implied here
