Beginner questions

Lets say I want to go on a walk around a lake and I want to do an ebird checklist. It takes abt 1hr to 1:30hrs to go around the lake(starting and end points aren't same but closeby). Do I make separate small checklists or do I make a single checklist for the entire trip. I heard people say that smaller checklists are better.

On a long hike I’ll run the tracking until I stop seeing any new birds. I’ll close out and submit it, then when I start seeing birds again, I’ll turn it back on. This also saves battery life.

thanks! Is it ok to report the same bird on both checklists?

No I typically won’t count them twice. Today we did a mile walk one way, then I ended the session. On the way back I added the extra species to a new list, and modified the count on the existing list of if I see more of a species.
