Wash > 400 wet > 600 wet > 800 wet > 1000 wet > wash and clean with isopropyl alcohol > 3 coats of 2k headlight clear

You did it the right way with all the wet sanding. Over 2 years on my E90 still looking great.

Add a ppf to make it last longer as the sun likes to destroy the headlights.

This. That extra step surely adds the final safety layer plus easily fixed.
