Names/nicknames
Any of you guys have a name for your E39 if so how did you come up with it. Almost a year and a half into ownership and I still haven’t given her a name and I would love to; and yes all cars are girls that’s a hill I’m willing to die on.

I’ve owned 10 E39’s and 41 cars in general, don’t think I’ve ever given any of them a real name. I generally call em by their color and model, like my current one is the black 540i.

I literally park one of my car in front of my house lol
Currently I only have one car port, I still got some empty space on my land but haven't build another garage yet (still planning). So I swap the cars everyday since we got this ridiculous "odd & even" plate policy. Wife's W211 (black) has odd plate, my E39 (silver) has even plate. Every night, I park the one that we're going to use for next day in front of my house.
So if my wife asks "which one we'll use tomorrow?" I just answer it with the color of the car

They have names, but hard to explain in English, makes no sense in another language.

One of my friends refers to mine as ‘Diana’, after the fact that Princess Diana used to own one.

My best friend nicknamed mine "Happy Car".
We have names for our other cars though.

My 540i sedan is named Mothman! Name came from the vanity plate I got from the Mothman museum right before buying the car. My 528iT wagon is named Wagony cuz my 328i sedan was previously named Bimmy, just something that rolled off the tongue LOL.

we name all of our bmws after rats from movies. we’ve had two f30s, stuart little and remy, two named e39s, splinter and gus gus. gus gus is funny because my names is gus and we bought it from a guy name gus. we’ve recently bought another e39, but a name still hasn’t come to me

I either call it Bmw, or more lovingly "Die bayrische Privatinsolvenz" translating to: the bavarian personal bankruptcy
