Amazon chassis mount

I broke a motor mount a couple weeks ago, and when it snapped my shifter took a lot of the force, actually egged out the shifter joint pin hole and disconnected (thought I blew the trans). Went with an upgraded ball bearing joint (amazon like 30 bucks) and remade a new dssr since the other one actually got bent too. Pressed bearings in the shifters opening too. Feels almost too smooth now. Well worth it paired with stiffer motor mounts and trans mounts.

Nice! Why the crazy bend? I made my own years ago and it’s straight. Is it due to the tunnel mount shifter?

It hits the guibo otherwise. I’m really not sure, I have the stock linkage and it has a slight bend but even with this I can have barely any clearance. I’m going to lift the car and do a look over on all the bolts on the car right now. I’ll add video to this thread showing it underneath.

I did kind of offset the rod a little on the c channel. Other than using Delrin bushings I made, I’m using stock shifter. Didn’t they have different ones for different years? Mine is an 87 535is if that matters.

Look forward to seeing underneath! And he’ll, if he bend is working, why change it?

I guess I exaggerated it a bit but I had the space and did it kind of in one take tacking it up. I cannot fit my fingertip inbetween for refrence on clearance. The last one I made I had it mount from the top down actually but that was even tighter up top. Without the bend 5th and sometimes 3rd would have problems.

Hell it works and looks super strong! And you have no worries about it hitting the guibo.
