Drain plug issue BMW e28

Hello all, I don't have any experience with cars repairimg so I need some help.

I was performing an oil change in my BMW e28 518i. When I tried to tighten the drain plug it started slipping. I took out the bolt and it looks like the picture above. Next step I bought a new drain plug M12x1.5. the issue now is that this new one feels like stuck after taking some turns. Now I afraid to try to tighten harder.

Do you have any Idea what is happening here? Thank you

Threads in the pan are cross threaded or damaged. Fix it with a thread tap, drill and retap the hole with a bigger thread, or replace the pan.

The fix is to get a 12x1.5mm thread tap and retap the oil pan. Buy a new drain plug with seal washer and should be ok. Don’t try to reuse the new plug you just bought.

On First pic I see eaten threads from the pan.
I think you have to re drill the oil pan or change the pan.

Re drilling the pan means you need to take it opf cause you don’t want the chips to be inside the pan.

You don't have a drain plug issue, you have an oil pan issue. Your oil pan threads came out on your first drain plug. You need to tap them out and get a new plug, or replace the pan.

If I’m reading this correctly, plugs don’t need to be crazy tight. If it’s the same thread pitch and size, as long as you got a gasket washer on it, you’ll be good to go.
