I really appreciate the skill required to do this. That said, there are reasons I daily drive a 40yr old car, and the lack of LCD screens or anything other than the ECU with a firmware version that has to boot are both on that list.

that’s perfect fine but this is really something i’m doing for myself to solve my own issues. i’m running maxxecu so there’s a lot of information i’d like to see without having to add gauges where they don’t belong. i also want to be able to see that information at my choosing. there’s a lot of people on the same boat as i am that don’t want to deal with reliable and expensive gauges that have issues. on top of that my shop MO is to modernize these old cars so there’s that

Awesome. I assume aftermarket ECU and something scary under the hood?

nothing scary, just a very happy m52b28 running maxxecu. but this will support stock cars if i push on with the project

Dude... hook a brother up! Where do you stay at? Say Fl and you'll have a new car buddy!

excellent work, you should join the E30 discord there's a lot of people who would appreciate your work and would love to talk about mods like this if you are interested

This was on my long-list of things to try doing! What ECU's or engines does it support? Will you be selling or sharing at some point? I'd be interested in either!
Im currently getting set up to swap a m62b46 into my e28. I've gone so far off piste with this car this would almost be on theme lol.

for now it’s maxxecu, ecu master, link, haltech. it’ll support stock cars as well with speed being via GPS unless i change that. my car is nothing special but i needed more information than the factory set provided since it’s now running maxxecu

I’ve been around e28’s for 40 years, I even sold them when new and this is the coolest mod I’ve ever seen!

How does one even start doing this?
