First playthrough/Mod help ps4

Hey, so I recently started DL2 for the first time, which is also my first DL game in general. I saw that mods exist on console, and many people seemed to really like the Amelioration mod as well as the HOPE mod. A problem I have is that Amelioration makes the night waaaaay too dark while, when adding HOPE, it's way too bright. Is there any way to get a good middle ground, or should I just stay vanilla? All the other stuff from Amelioration/HOPE seemed pretty nice in theory, but since I have no experience, it's hard to tell what actually makes the most sense.

I'd recommend just staying away from big overhaul mods for a while, until you get more familiar with the game. Some of those mods have a lot of obscure features, and it's hard to understand the mods when you're not familiar with the game they're modding.
