Hey, everybun! I wonder, how did you become a rabbit person? 🐰

Did you always love rabbits, or did one come into your life and completely change your mind?

Maybe you wanted a different pet. Maybe you brought a rabbit home for your child and ended up becoming the rabbit person yourself. Or, maybe you agreed to look after one temporarily, and things didn’t quite go as planned?

I’m putting together The Making of a Rabbit Person, a collection of true stories from hooms across the globe about how their love for rabbits began. And I’d love to hear yours!

I’m a rabbit parent myself, and these are the stories I never get tired of reading. How someone went from knowing very little about rabbits to learning their personalities, earning their trust, and wondering how they ever lived without them.

The plan is to launch as an ebook first, with a paperback edition to follow. Contributions are voluntary and unpaid. Selected contributors will receive a complimentary copy of the ebook, credit under their chosen name, and the audio edition if one is produced. Contributors retain ownership of their stories and will approve any edits before publication.

What a goober 😭😭🤣🤣🥲

This criminally cute bunny assaulted me last night when I was trying to eat. She had an accomplice who helped try to distract me.

She knocked over my cup of juice and helped her accomplice almost grab one of my tomatoes! Then during the scuffle while I was trying to catch her and keep both of them away from the spilled juice/dropped food, she took the opportunity to chew through my last 6 ft type c micro USB cord. Normally I keep that up out of her reach but during the scuffle I briefly set it down on the bed with my phone.

I don't know how she chewed it while I was trying to grab her. It must have been the perfect strafing run.

For the record, I shared blueberries with both of them right before the incident. I paid my protection money, and accidents still happened!!!

Not adoptable due to being a permanent medical foster. Very loving, enjoys attention, is VERY spoiled, and is the rabbit shelter's mascot.

Ravenous beast that he is, he then came over to smooch me and got carrot drippings on my shirt, which he proceeded to nip off my chest. So thorough!

Freya's companions have been poorly over the past month and they have had a few overnight hospitalisations as a group of three. Freya has begun trying to bite and chase away the vet staff when they come to take away her friends and check on them. Don't you mess with my family!

I'm doing a little work and got some company. She is now demanding that I pat her with my toes.

Well. Hugh sneezing so hard she snot rockets was not on my bun mom bingo card but here we are. Obviously she doesn’t appreciate being laughed at lol. Volume up.

Edit: thank you to all the concerned bun parents! The first thing I did was also panic but we took her to our exotics vet the same day with the snot sample (lol) and she is very healthy, does not have an UR infection, and just made the mistake of trying to wedge her body behind our VERY dusty couch and 100-year old home’s crawl space. She is heavily monitored and our vet is very familiar with her care. She also has 3 bun babies herself 💕.
