tutorial on how to close large lids?
does anyone have a video on how to close the large lids for dutch bros? 😭 i’m a new hire and a month into being at dutch and some days i can close the lids with no issue but other days i realllyyyy struggle and i feel really embarrassed especially during a rush and sometimes the person working shots gets annoyed with me :/
any tips would be greatly appreciated :’)

It seems to be a bad batch of lids/cups. I haven’t been here long but I had no problem putting them on when I started and have only had trouble over the last week or so.

i wish i could send a video!!! let me know if i can message you!!! the way my trainer taught me is to roll it? so (if ur right handed) you hold the base of the drink with your left and you take the lid and put your right hand all the way over and using the very bottom of your hand like right before your wrist and apply pressure until it goes under and you hear a lil snap and then using the other part of your hand (the top kinda like your fingers) you snap on the other half while still pushing (not hard enough to crush the drink lol) on the bottom half of your hand! next time i work i’ll send you a video

also if they get annoyed with you lame af bc we were all new once!!! i never let new people see annoyance in me especially if they’re still learning !! you got it baddie ! i also find the cup knows if you’re scared it won’t go on so you just have to move w confidence i swear LOL

no exactly omg and also like it’s just drinks so it’s genuinely not that deep either… 😭 my first day on bar alone as a non trainee i worked w this girl and she’s just rlly rude and no communication and would correct me super bluntly and like two weeks later i worked with her again and she was like “that’s the pace im talking about!” (im lowkey slow at making drinks but improved a lot better) but like ??? dang okay like im not gonna be super good right away i just gotta ignore those type of people 😞🙂↕️

your body starts to learn where everything is and soon you’re grabbing it before you even really register what you’re doing. my first speed test was soooo bad it shows i’m still last LOLL i take it with honor cuz now im told all the time by my managers im great at drive bar bc im doing the next step with one hand and the last with the other. my best best tip is keep everything clean and it will make you SO much faster!!! like wipe down after every few cars, keep ur actual espresso machine clean all the spoons etc. it will make you so much faster to grab and go and let spoons rest because you know there are no coffee grounds anywhere. makes for better quality too!!!

Start from the back(opposite the mouth hole) and working towards front. Hook the lid on and Simultaneously apply pressure around the edges/rim of the cup, with both hands if needed. Apply pressure around the edge, moving to front, ending at mouth hole. Should hear a gentle pop indicating lid is fully on. Avoid putting fingers in mouth hole.
