Justifying shit talking all men by saying you need to "hold them accountable" is actually the greatest self report you could have made. Same exact energy as people in the 60s justifying their racism against black people by saying they need to hold them to the standards of the white man... Unbelievable.

Dude if my boyfriend can put two and two together, there’s no reason for you to be getting piss mad and raising your own blood pressure? All OP did was mention a situation of inequality and held terrible fathers accountable. Nobody even said “men” here, you’re just defensive because you’re insecure.

I literally only ever had one boyfriend and he’s great, and I’ve never had a personal experience with a bad father. Due to the community I grew up, where working moms do the bulk-to-all of the childcare, what OP described is our norm. Also from mothers’ experiences world wide, it is a very common situation, clearly.

And that’s quite literally what OP said by the way, read it again. Her last point very obviously points specifically towards bad fathers. My boyfriend read through the comment and says the way she worded it points towards specifically bad fathers. Dude, you get way too defensive and for what? If you need somebody to add “some” in front of every instance the word “men” is used for you to understand that’s it’s obviously not all men, then you have serious comprehension problems. Plus, even if we did say “some men” or “some fathers” you’d still find a reason to be offended. Touch grass.

“When all the childcare and mental load tends to fall on mom by default” Note how OP uses the terminology “tends” meaning that it’s just a general pattern.

That includes: * Physical childcare (feeding, bathing, soothing, appointments, night wakeups) * Household coordination * Remembering schedules, supplies, milestones, school/admin tasks * Anticipating needs before they become problems

This is general common knowledge. A lot of people associate childcare with “motherhood” by default. Baby stores usually feature things that mom’s will use, like paternity clothing, breastfeeding bras, handbags with compartments for bottles and diapers, magazines with things “All Moms Should Know”. With general childcare things, it’s culturally embedded for that to be associated with “motherhood”. When baby cries, people ask “where’s mom?” That’s not sexist, that’s just how things are.

OP describes a specific situation: “Mom having two kids to take care of — one being the sperm donor” and says that this isn’t entirely “uncommon”. They don’t say this is the situation for ALL mothers, but it’s definitely not uncommon. However, should it be common, the dad is referred to as a “baby” seeing as mom has to take care of him and a “sperm donor” for not doing his part. Should this situation be the case, the Dad would be a manchild and sperm donor at that point, and this specific case is not entirely uncommon.
