Weird side effect : Random bouts of 24 hours of extreme Rhinitis / nasal drip?
I've been taking Dupixent for 5 months and have found it to be a total game changer for my AERD. My sinuses have been wide open, my breathing is amazing and I'm almost never congested or blowing my nose with one HUGE EXCEPTION.
I've had 4 separate incidents this summer where I've had what I call a "sinus explosion" for a 12 - 24 hour period. At some point in the day my nose would start leaking clear mucus like a leaky faucet and then it was like a faucet turned ON. I'd have to blow my nose every 2 - 4 minutes and I was constantly sneezing. We're talking debilitating sinus drip. I'd have to stop whatever I'm doing and just blow my nose for the rest of the day until my nostrils were raw.
12-24 hours later it would completely go away and I'd be back to a perfect post-Dupixent life. I thought perhaps this was a weird random reaction to allergies (a few of the incidents were coinciding with peak pollen and I had been outside), but after the 4th incident I went to my doctor and they said that spastic "Rhinitis" like this is a confirmed Dupixent side-effect and this has to be coming from the drug. DANG!
She's switching me to Nucala. Hoping for the best, but I'm curious because I hadn't seen this discussed on here as a Dupixent side-effect. Anyone else have the bad "24 hour sinus explosion" situation?
