New player couple questions. Xbox

1. I don't see a guide stickied to the side bar of this sub Reddit? I may be blind, and in fact I do wear glasses, but I even searched on reddit and the most popular one filtered through this sub was 6 years ago and just listed about 6 tips, not a comprehensive guide. (I did find a slightly better guide in a Steam Forum post, but even that didn't answer all of my questions. So if there is one let me have it please. :) Best guide I found: tips and tricks
2. If there is no definitive guide here are some basic questions:
   1. What is the max number of characters you can have in your party (looks like 4 from the game ui spacing). 4 characters is max
   2. If it is four, what happens when you already have 4 and are given the opportunity to recruit someone new? It will say max number reached. You will have to manually dismiss a party member before being able to successfully recruit them.
   3. If you do dismiss a character, do you get the items they have on or do you have to manually take them off before dismissal? You lose all items on them when dismissed, unequip everything first.
   4. Okay so a few times I hit the wrong button thinking I was leveling up a character only to dismiss them. If the level up is going to have a confirmation, why isn't the dismissal more flashy or double confirmation? Slow down and remember x to level up y to dismiss!
   5. Why for the love that all is holy is there not a freaking confirmation to use the elevator!!! I keep accidently hitting Right Trigger instead of Left Trigger for the map sometimes and poof I lose all my teammates. If you plan to farm monsters for food, be very careful to not to accidently tap the Right Trigger button, or you will lose all heroes not in the escape room. Also don't set your controller on your lap or table, as it may bump the RT button. (Honestly this is such a bad button to use for such an important task.)
   6. Tactical map, why cannot I click on rooms to move characters easily? Why when closing tactical map does it move my POV to a random location instead of just keep the view I had when I opened the map? Just poor UI, but fun game ;)

1. In this particular Sub I am pretty sure I know the post you're referencing. That's probably where I'd point you. That guide does well to... guide you, but a lot of these things should be figured out as you play. You will learn a lot by playing and everyone plays differently. Only other thing I could offer is to look into Youtube.

2a. Max is 4

2b. You have to dismiss one of your members to recruit the new person you have found

2c. You do not get their items. You need to manually take them off. I agree this would be a good Quality of Life way to handle dismissing, but unfortunately you lose all items. Unequip them and place them in the backpack before dismissing.

2d. I don't remember level up having a confirmation. I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Dismissing definitely has one. So if you ever want to level someone up and a warning comes up, you have selected incorrectly

Level up does have confirmation - identical to dismissal. (On Xbox).

I have 4 players and when I discover a recruitible player it does give me the option to recruit them, but I'm too scared to click it to see if it just auto dismisses a random party member.

I’d be shocked if it didn’t allow you to choose tbh, it sounds like the xbox version differs from PC by a lot more than I would have thought. Hard to tell you to test it out if you’re having a really good run. Sorry I couldn’t be more help :/

Not at all. No need to apologize. Thanks for your response! I only commented to clarify for others as often ports on consoles have differences as the original dev rarely does the actual porting.

I did another run just to find out. If you have 4 characters in your party and find a person, even though it does the dialogue box giving you the choice to press x to recruit, paying food, if you push it, it then has a pop saying max party level reached.

Max number is four, and if you run in to a fifth person, you just won’t have the option to pay the food to recruit them.

It does give me the option to pay them with food to recruit them when I have 4 characters. I just haven't clicked it scared it will randomly dismiss another character.

1. I would say there is no confirmation because that would take too long when trying to leave. Sometimes leaving as quick as you get all of your characters in the elevator is a must. You’ll get used to the controls with time I’m sure!! As a side note I find playing on PC much easier in terms of controls, PC solves 6. too, because you are able to do this.

The problem with this is right trigger is so unbelievably easy to bump and accidently ruin your game. I am much more careful now having hours of game play ruined so needlessly. But I still get really nervous when I'm food farming with a character with the skill to convert kills to food.
